Daily Hours
Our normal school day will run from 9:00 until 2:30 for morning lessons (Form 4 and above having longer lessons) with optional Afternoon occupations running until 4:00. Afternoon occupations are explained below.
Our morning will start at 8:45am with the Pledge of Allegiance and morning prayer. Lessons begin at 9:00am SHARP. Time management is critical. We work hard to be respectful of the personhood of each of our children and we will start and end on time every day.

Schedule
Here is a sample school week (Morning Lessons) for a Form 2a (6th grade) student. Your students schedule will look different than this particular schedule & both you and your student will receive one upon admission. Each day has a maximum of 3 hours allotted to these subjects, for form 2 students. That time + subjects will increase with age or decrease for younger students. Time management is CRITICAL to make sure our day runs smoothly and everything is accomplished in its allotted time. Lunch will be after all morning lessons are completed. After morning lessons, each day will have certain afternoon occupations to be completed. This afternoon time is also when we will do special Nature Study topics, experiments, hikes, handicrafts (learning to sew, sloyd, etc). You may also choose to do these on your own and not with our school program. We recommend having a rain coat/umbrella/etc that your student can bring daily for Nature Hikes.

HOMEWORK
We work very hard to require minimal homework of students because this style of education is rigorous. Our hope is that your children come home excited to talk about their day, play imaginatively, and spend time outdoors. Please, ask open-ended questions about their favorite book, character, person in history, or object in nature. We also ask that you set aside half an hour every day for your children to read books. You may need to read aloud to younger ones. We will also send home a suggested list of Sunday Reading books to read aloud with your family. All students have memory work every term (a passage from scripture, a scene from Shakespeare, and/or poem). Form 1 may have easy readers sent home for extra practice. All students may have Math facts to practice, or Foreign Language vocabulary to work on. Any homework for math, foreign language, etc is optional with the exception of missed work because of discipline issues. Time management is something that is important for all ages and all stages of life. Everything has a time and a place. If your child spends their lesson time on something other than their lessons then their free time must be spent on lessons. We do this in hopes that all students will see the importance of completing all work in a timely manner. All required homework will be listed in in each Scholars agenda. High school students will have homework assigned. All students will also have the option of attending a Study Hall after morning lessons for extra practice if they are having issues with something.
